Nineteen of the Russian's 21 titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial championship for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The athlete, a former world number one, has experienced a torrid period, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.
His varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in particular - led to him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-time coach Cervara.
Now training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set victory over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is the player's initial championship after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since that period of the previous year.
The win also indicates Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at 21 different tournaments.
"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my two daughters simultaneously, so to get a trophy is really nice," stated world number 14 the champion.
"This championship is in honour of my second daughter her name, because the initial championship I achieved when my older daughter my daughter was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six championship matches, comprising in that event previously this season.
His defensive strategy and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had caused commentators to question if his skill to play at the top level was over.
But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to advance forward and perform positively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
The champion came back from a break down in the first set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the concluding five games to gain the advantage.
Both players swapped breaks in the middle set before Moutet, bidding for his first ATP Tour title, gained dominance to force a third set.
Moutet rescued four early opportunities in a tight deciding set before the champion secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.
Suitably, Medvedev earned victory with a point at the net, with the Frenchman failing to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
