In an public statement, the government stated that strikes had hit Caracas and several other regions: Miranda state, La Guaira state, and Aragua. "The primary goal of this aggression is to gain control of Venezuela's key assets, in particular its crude oil and resources," the government said. Venezuelan officials appealed to the global community to denounce the actions, which it described a "blatant breach of global law" that placed countless of lives at risk in peril.
