Four fans named Alex, Sam, Rory and Katie are among those affected.

Alex, Sam, Rory and Katie had their itineraries and entry credentials arranged for the Melbourne and Sydney matches "well ahead of time", anticipating a rare England series success.

From afar, they've seen Australia outplay the visitors in just under two weeks from their residence in the north of England.

"People in the office has been making comments regarding the concluded contest for the last two weeks," stated Sam Ryding.

"We always thought that we would have a meaningful contest upon our arrival."

Looking Ahead

When questioned if he believed England will secure a victory in this Ashes series, came the reply: "The evidence suggests the Australians are superior right now."

"There is going to have to be multiple performers that makes a significant contribution and produces a match-winning display."

Despite the scoreline, the siblings are still looking forward to the trip.

"It will be a great time nonetheless," added another sibling. "We have to go with that mindset."

"Naturally, it's disappointing we aren't fighting for more, but we have made a substantial financial commitment already."

"We plan to savor spending the festive season in Australia. It is also mine and Rory's first time abroad over Christmas."

A teacher, Katie is intent on maximizing the lengthy journey as part of her time off.

"Should the cricket disappoint, I've got golf to turn to," she added.
