Passionate supporters of Ariana Grande are urging that a man who jumped a barrier and seized the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good launch be arrested or expelled from Singapore.

A viral clip shows the Australian man shoving aside media personnel and lunging at Grande while the actors made its way down a promenade accompanied by onlookers.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly pulled the stunned actress away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being removed of the event by guards.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being detained", though official papers showed that he was scheduled to be present on Friday morning. It is not clear if he was charged.

History of Incidents

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Troll Most Hated", has crashed a performance. His Instagram profile includes clips of him disturbing other celebrity events, including breaching the performance area at the pop singer's Sydney show in June this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last December.

"There needs to be action enforced against him as this is obviously a punishable act," commented an Instagram user, in a response to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his actions.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" another Instagram user wrote.

Supporters Voice Worry Over the Star's Well-being

Numerous fans blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the end of her spring 2017 performance in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and injuring hundreds.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" said a further response on Instagram.

Some fans also criticised guards at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while different individuals requested online networks to remove Mr Wen's videos.

Aftermath and Premiere Information

In videos circulating online, Grande appeared startled when she was approached by the intruder. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed reassuring her while Mr Wen was removed by staff.

Grande has remained silent on the event, and the premiere activities continued without further issues.

Fans at Wicked premiere
Hundreds of Singapore fans had lined up to meet the cast of Wicked

Hundreds of fans had gathered in a sea of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good international premiere in a Singapore shopping center, including a number who had stood in line for as long as many hours before it commenced.

The movie, to be premiered on November 21, is the sequel of a two-film version of the popular theatrical musical Wicked, which focuses on the unlikely friendship between two distinct sorceresses.

The musical itself is a adaptation of the twentieth-century book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the good witch Glinda, was adorned in a champagne pink glittering gown at the gathering while Erivo, who portrays the villainous character, wore a sleek black dress decorated with roses.

They were joined by co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the top-earning film of last year in the UK, and scored a dozen Oscar nominations, earning a pair for outstanding attire and production design.
