The Gunners' boss feels assured that his squad can continue to cope with player absences after revealing that star striker Kai Havertz remains out for the coming weeks.

Extended Absence for German Star

The Germany international has been sidelined since the summer after undergoing an operation on his knee. Hoped to be available at the start of this month, Arteta explained the player hit a snag when increasing his rehabilitation and failed to reach “the next phase.”

“We learned, and we were able to put together a team that is far more dependable and has increased versatility,” commented Arteta.

This development creates a tactical puzzle for the midweek home game against Brentford. Arteta must choose between sticking with Mikel Merino, who got a goal as a makeshift striker last weekend, or reinstating Viktor Gyökeres, who came back off the bench as a substitute.
